RENU – Discontinued19 Aug

After years of servicing our loyal engine rebuild customers we have had to make the difficult decision to discontinue our Renu range of Engine parts.

This decision has not been made lightly. Several factors including the value of used car prices being at an all time low and the Government scrappage scheme have made it increasingly difficult for us to sustain a competitive and marketable product .

We currently have disposal stocks of the following:

Pre-combustion Chambers

Tappet Shims

Inlet & Exhaust Valves

Valve Guides

Valve Seat Inserts

If you are interested in purchasing any of our remaining stocks, contact us for an up to date stock list.

Veco – New Recruit17 Aug

Experienced aftermarket sales professional, Ian Hughes has joined Universal Automotive as its new business development manager for the southwest of England.

Ian has worked in the aftermarket for the whole of his career and has enjoyed significant periods with some well-known businesses. He spent 12 years with Autostart followed by ten years with Sovereign and then another eight years with Quinton Hazell before becoming part of the Universal Automotive team in June.

John Goodland, Universal Automotive’s sales director said: “Professionals of Ian’s pedigree do not come along very often and so we are delighted to be able to welcome onto the team.

“The aftermarket is a tight knit community and Ian has established relationships with many businesses and we have already seen that many are interested in the great brands and quality products we distribute.”

Ian added: “As the south coast has been my ‘patch’ for such a long time, I have got to know many of the businesses as friends, rather than just as my customers. They are always pleased to see me and they are also very interested in VECO as they remember it as a reputable aftermarket brand.

“Personally, it is great to get stuck into a new challenge with a new business and new products. However, it is particularly pleasing to hear my customers who had previously not dealt with Universal Automotive say how professional the people are and how good they are to deal with.”

PRESS RELEASE

VECO STARTS ALTERNATIVE RANGE

More choice from the factors favourite

Leading aftermarket parts distributor Universal Automotive, has expanded its range of components under the VECO ‘fighting’ brand to include Rotating Machines.

Recognising that convenience is a major benefit to factors, the new range is not an ‘exchange’ programme for remanufactured units, which need the return of the old ‘core’. Instead, VECO rotating machines are brand new units sold alongside Universal Automotive’s other product groups available on a next day delivery basis, which makes ordering the products straightforward and hassle free.

To ensure the correct product identification, each variant is cross-referenced with a number of established brands and the applications can also be found on both the Mastercat and MAM Autocat electronic parts catalogues.

Universal Automotive has launch its starter and alternator programme with a selected range that caters for the top 75 fast moving part numbers, which include alternators references for; Ford Escort, Fiesta, Courier, Transit, Honda Civic, Rover 25, 45, Vauxhall Astra, Corsa, Fontera and Vectra. Starter references include; Ford Escort, Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo, Transit, Peugeot 206, 306, 307, 406, 407, Renault Clio, Laguna, Megane, VW Beetle, Bora, Golf, Passat and Polo.

Universal Automotive inherited the VECO name following its acquisition of GP Automotive in August 2008. During the subsequent 12 months, it has invested in the programme to provide its valued customers with a range of matching OE quality parts at ultra competitive prices, available alongside its established OEM product ranges.

John Goodland, Universal Automotive’s sales director said: “Universal Automotive has a reputation for providing factors with a range of quality brands across a basket of general service items. However, rotating electrics is one of the few product groups that we had been unable to supply to our customers, so we are particularly delighted to launch this new addition to the VECO range and anticipate a great deal of interest from our customers.”
